Made to order

Cut for you, when you ask.

Pieces marked Made to Order aren't sitting in a warehouse. We cut the cloth after you place the order, in your size, with the seam allowance set to your hem preference. It takes three to four weeks. We think it's worth the wait.

  • 01Place the order. Choose your size from 00–24. Add a note if you'd like an inseam adjustment within 2 inches.
  • 02We cut the cloth. Within 5 working days, from the fabric named on the product page.
  • 03Porto sews. 12–18 working days. We pay for express courier so the carbon stays low and the lead stays predictable.
  • 04Free returns, free repairs, forever. If the fit is off by more than half a size, we'll remake it free of charge.
Size guide — 00–24

Not sure between two? We always recommend going up. Linen relaxes about 3% after the first wash. If you'd like fit advice, write to fit@sahelstudio.example. Naomi answers within a day.

Care — the six-step ritual

Keep them for years.

Linen and Tencel get better with washing — if you wash them slowly. This is the ritual we use on our own pieces, and the one we'd ask you to use on yours. None of it is complicated. All of it is worth doing.

  1. 01.

    Wash less.

Air out between wears. A linen shirt can be worn three times in cool weather before it needs a wash. Spot-clean small marks with cold water and a clean cotton cloth.

  2. 02.

    Cold, gentle, alone.

Machine-wash on cold, on the wool or delicate cycle. Wash like colours together. Skip fabric softener — it coats the fibres and makes them less breathable, not more.

  3. 03.

    Hang to dry.

Inside out, in shade. The dryer is the single shortest road to a worn-out garment. If you must tumble, do it for 5 minutes only to soften, then air-dry the rest of the way.

  4. 04.

    Iron damp.

Linen wants steam. Iron on the linen setting while the piece is still slightly damp. Wrinkles you can't iron out aren't damage — they're the fibre, settling. Wear them.

  5. 05.

    Store on the shelf.

Fold knits and linen, hang trousers and outerwear. Hangers stretch shoulders. A small cedar block in the drawer keeps moths out without scenting the fabric.

  6. 06.

    Send it back.

If something tears, a button drops, a seam gives — mail it to the studio. We mend everything we ever made, for life, free of charge. Repairs take 2–3 weeks.

Returns

Try it for 14 days. If it doesn't suit you, send it back unworn with tags. We pay return shipping within the US and EU. Refunds in 5–7 working days. Made-to-order pieces are non-refundable unless the fit is off by more than half a size, in which case we remake it free of charge.
