Home/About

Built by the people who built the cars.

Volt & Current was founded in 2021 by an ex-Tesla retail director and an ex-Lucid powertrain engineer. We left because the dealer experience never caught up to the cars. So we built our own. Sales, service, charging, and home install under one roof, by people who know the badge.

The two people who started this.

Margaux led the buildout of Tesla's flagship retail formats. Daniyar tuned the dual-motor drive units that ship in every Lucid Air. They met arguing about regen calibration. They have not stopped arguing since. And that's how the company gets better.

Co-founder · CEO

Margaux Whitcomb

Built 14 flagship retail formats across Tesla's Western region, including the Beverly Hills and Newport Coast galleries. Before Tesla, store design at Apple Retail under Angela Ahrendts. Runs the showroom, the test-drive program, and the customer experience playbook.

Ex-Tesla Ex-Apple Retail RISD '08

Co-founder · Head of Service

Daniyar Tursunov

Powertrain engineer on the Lucid Air program. Wrote calibration for the rear drive unit shipping in every Touring and Grand Touring. Before Lucid, four years at Faraday Future on the inverter team. Holds two patents on permanent-magnet motor cooling.

Ex-Lucid Ex-Faraday Stanford MSME

Three buildings. One roof line.

The Newport Beach campus sits on 3.4 acres a half-mile from the 73. Walk-in showroom up front, 8-bay service center in back, and the supercharger plaza tucked behind a windbreak of native sycamores. The whole site is solar-shaded and runs net-positive on most weeks.

Building 01

The Gallery

7,200 sq ft · Five live demonstrators · Configurator bar

Building 02

The Service Center

8 EV-certified bays · HV-safe lifts · Battery diag suite

Building 03

The Plaza

6 × 350 kW DC fast · NACS + CCS · Solar canopy, 480 kW

The bench.

Twelve full-time. Half are factory-certified on at least three of the brands we carry. Most came from the OEMs themselves. Lucid, Tesla, Rivian, Hyundai. And a few defected from the diesel side because they wanted to work on cars that aren't on fire.

Our Operating Principles

Five rules we won't bend.

We wrote these on a whiteboard the week we incorporated. They're still on a whiteboard. They've gotten longer.

  • 01 / Spec

    Specs are non-negotiable.

If a manufacturer's number drops more than 4% in the real world, we say so out loud. Range estimates on this site are EPA values. Owner-observed numbers live in the impact report.

  • 02 / Price

    No back-room markups.

MSRP is the price. Documentation fees are capped at $85 by California law and we do not exceed them. We will not pressure you with an "ADM" or a phantom protection package.

  • 03 / Service

    Loaner is always an EV.

If your car is in the bay, the car you drive home is electric. We will not put you in a rental Camry. The fleet rotates Polestar 2s, GV60s, and a long-suffering R1T.

  • 04 / Charging

The plaza is open to the public.

Six bays, 350 kW peak, NACS & CCS. Open 24/7 whether you bought the car here or not. We make this back in software updates and rebates. You make it back in time saved.

  • 05 / Carbon

    We publish what we pollute.

Every quarter we publish the campus's net energy balance and our delivered-fleet impact. The numbers go on the site whether they look good or not.

Who we install with.

Our home-charging program is built on three vendors we've vetted in our own service center for two-plus years. We don't earn a referral on these. We just don't sell anything we wouldn't put in our own homes. And we have.

ChargePoint
Wallbox
SPAN
Enphase
Eaton
EVgo

Hardware

Wallbox Pulsar Plus · ChargePoint Home Flex

Two of the three best-rated Level 2 units on the U.S. market. 48A. Hardwired. App-controlled. Both ship with a 3-year warranty we extend to 5 in-house.

Smart Panel

SPAN Drive. For tight load houses

When your service panel can't take a 60A circuit, the SPAN routes load dynamically. Solar, battery, charger, and the rest of the house, all talking to one app. Avoids a $4–8k service upgrade in most cases.

Solar & Storage

Enphase IQ8 + 5P Battery

Pair your EV charger with rooftop solar and a 5 kWh storage unit. Charge the car off your own panels by day, run the house off the car by night with V2H. Only on Lyriq and F-150 Lightning for now.

About this design template

Volt and Current is an EV dealership design template.

This is a design template that shows how Albertson Designs approaches automotive websites. The structure, photography, typography, and copy were built around how a real automotive business actually operates. Generic about-services-contact patterns are not here.

When Albertson Designs builds your site, we use designs like this as a reference for color, structure, and category vocabulary. Every line of code, every photo, and every word is custom for your business. Most full builds ship in four to eight weeks depending on scope.
