Roy steps back at sixty-two. Bill Hadley takes the operator chair. Aera Energy (then Shell-Mobil JV) signs Diamond H to a multi-year contract. Fleet hits five rigs.
Diamond H buys its first 1,500 hp triple rig and begins drilling in the Salinas Basin for San Ardo operators. Coalinga staging yard opens to support west-side dispatch.
Bill steps back. Cody Hadley takes the operator chair after fifteen years on tool pusher rotation. Diamond H drills its first horizontal lateral for a diatomite operator at Lost Hills.
Cody's son Wyatt joins after a petroleum engineering degree from Texas A&M and two years on directional service crews. Fleet crosses twelve rigs. EMR drops to 0.68. Diamond H reaches fifty-three years in continuous family ownership.
